Welcome to Women Learning Tech!

Have you heard of MOOCs (massively open online courses)? This isn't one of those. This is a SMOOC (small meaningful open online community) inspired by Jon Becker's Build-a-MOOC workshop and Verena Roberts excellent examples of #DigiFoot12 and #CEETOpen.

Create a Website

These days, tools exist so that anybody can build a website, but that doesn't mean anyone will want to visit it. The result of this connected learning experience will be the launch of your own website. Participants will learn about the underlying code it takes to develop a website (HTML & CSS) as well as website design considerations. We'll also introduce you to computer science concepts, helping demystify technology and negating unhelpful stereotypes about the field.

Target Audience

If you are someone who has been wanting to learn about creating websites, but didn't know where to start, this SMOOC is for you. If you are someone who knows their way around a website and wants to help and encourage others, this SMOOC is for you too! Please join in, whatever your experience level, so we can all learn and share together.

Dates: 2/25 - 3/29

The connected part of this learning experience will begin February 25, 2013 and last for 5 weeks. The course content will be continue to be available any time.
