Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Are you concerned about how to help guide your young adult towards life/work success in today’s labor market? You are not alone.

There have been significant changes in the ‘world of work’ over the last few years, and they’re having an impact for all of us.

How do we help guide our kids towards life/work success when we may not be all that sure ourselves of how to do it?

The great news - especially for homeschooling families - is that in times of significant change the best strategy is to focus on some of the basics we’ve moved away from.

We’ll cover some of the major shifts that are taking place in our culture and economy that have an impact on ‘the world of work’, and address the skills and characteristics (we and) our kids need to have in order to create life/work success.

We’ll learn WHY:

  • Our traditional ideas of ‘job security’ are a myth – and where job security today comes from,
  • We need to stop arguing about whether to follow our heads or our hearts and get down to the business of real career exploration,
  • Failure isn’t just important – it’s critical

… And we’ll cover the 5 career questions that are far more effective than asking, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’
